When to see an RE?

Standard

When is too soon to see an RE?

I know 5 months isn’t that long to be trying but I’ve been feeling rather discouraged about the whole thing today and just want to get the ball rolling.

I’ve had a bit of a temperature rise the past few days and a faint line on an OPK yesterday.  So I was feeling pretty hopeful that ovulation would be around the corner some point soon.  Last cycle I only ever got a faint line but was feeling some other ovulation symptoms.  By the time I realized what was going on, it was too late to do anything :/  Today, my temperature dropped all the way down to 96.8 and nothing but a stark white OPK.

I’ve been working with my OBGYN and although I really like her I have some reservations since she has yet to do an ultrasound to really examine things and has made no mention of wanting to do such.  My appointments have consisted of talking and blood work.

If I’m starting Clomid, don’t they have to do ultrasounds to look at follicles and such?

Will an RE even see me if we’ve only been trying for 5 months?

Thanks in advance!

  1. They might do some testing but if they don’t find anything they might just tell you to keep trying. Don’t give up 🙂 It took my sister in law 7 months. My best friend 10 and another friend 14. Praying yours will be next month:)
