Fertility Update

I finally have a few updates to give you all.  I’m not sure if I would consider them good updates, but they’re progress so I guess that’s saying something.

I’m currently on Cycle Day #46…still no period in sight.  My OBGYN wanted me to wait until around day #60 to start Provera but I really don’t have it in me to wait any longer.  Especially after a few of the ladies on Baby Center mentioned that my chart looked anovulatory (let me know what you all think).  I’ve completely lost any hope for a BFP this cycle and I just want to move on to the next one.  Luckily, I spoke to the nurse this morning and she’s calling in the prescription today!

I’m getting ready to head home to Maryland for the weekend for my sister’s bridal shower and bachelorette party.  Still deciding if I want to start the Provera right away or wait until after the weekend.  I’m not sure how soon my period will start after I take it.  Any thoughts?

I also convinced my loving husband to get a Sperm Analysis done yesterday.  I know its probably still a little early for that but we really just want to rule him out as an issue.  I think we both would be surprised if it came back abnormal but if it does I definitely want to get it taken care of sooner rather that later.  Especially since it can take 3 months for the sperm to get back to “normal” I guess after being treated.  We were supposed to get the results back yesterday evening before 5pm but yeah, that didn’t happen.  Hoping to hear from them today.

In other news, I’ve had such a busy week!  I started seeing a chiropractor for an old tailbone injury on Tuesday.  I slipped and fell on ice probably about 5-6 years ago when we still lived in Maryland.  The pain normally comes and goes every few months but lately is has not been going away.  My primary care doctor mentioned to me that I should get it taken care of before we get pregnant because with all the extra weight and pressure of a baby it is likely to only going to get worse.  Fast forward to my appointment–the chiropractor said that not only did I previously have a stress fracture in my tailbone and in a lower vertebrae, but my pelvis is also crooked from years of trying to overcompensate for the pain in my tailbone when sitting.  So I’m now going to the chiropractor 3 times a week.  Hopefully they can get it corrected soon!  Work has also been super busy this week.  Which is definitely a good thing but it always seems to be busier when I’m about to leave town!

Will post another update when we get the sperm analysis back.

photo-8* How cute is this?!  Received it in the box with my most recent Pregnitude purchase and it definitely brightened my day 🙂

  1. Don’t give up! Stick with your instincts! I was recently informed that women with PCOS don’t always get any signs of ovulation. Like nothing, no body temp change, no LH surge, nothing sometimes. Truly not trying to self-promote, but you can read what happened for me and the comment I’m referring to at http://mindyminix.wordpress.com/2014/07/20/a-picture-is-worth-a-thousand-words/

That is pretty awesome to receive baby dust unexpectedly! Wishing you all the best!

    • Omgsh I am so happy for you! You definitely gave me some hope!

I had no idea that we sometimes wouldn’t even get a single sign! I have never gotten a positive OPK so I kind of wondered if those were accurate. Now I’m nervous to take the Provera! I guess I’ll take a test beforehand just to be safe.

Thanks again! You’ll be in my thoughts and prayers.

      • Thank you!

I didn’t know either until now, and now I’m so glad I do! There was a time at the beginning, before I got my PCOS diagnosis when the OPK would show up positive for like 20 days straight. My ob/gyn assured me when I finally went to see her that is also something that happens sometimes with “PCOS girls”. She always makes it sound like a special club somehow. 🙂

I will say a prayer for you. Best of wishes!
